Therem may be rich, but that hasn't stopped the slums growing like a rash outside the city walls. The homes here are rickety, lean-to buildings constructed of whatever could be found by their owners. Dirty children run through the narrow streets, doing their best to avoid the steady stream of human waste that pervades everything and turns the air fetid.
