Mount Vanth has that typical volcano shape, and as such there is a shallow bowl on the top of it. This bowl has been surrounded by fencing and now contains a vast herd of cattle, specifically for the use of the dragons. Usually the dragons prefer to hunt on the wing, swooping down to nab their prey.
