Zendetia Weyr
Our last hope
Three hundred turns after Thread, the climate of Pern began to change dramatically. The temperature dropped so low even the dragons began to feel the cold. It bacame too dangerous for living creatures to live outside, so Goldrider Lakire moved to the north, and constructed an underground Weyr with quite a few other dragons. Gradually more and more people came, and finally the last, the Master Harper, came baring news. Zendetia was the last Weyr on Pern. By this time, Lakire was old, and her dragon nearing what would be her last Flight, and being the second to last Gold dragon on Pern, pressure was on her to lay a Gold egg.
And so Yaruth Rose, a month after the news came, and the Bronzes began to Chase. Up the Chute she went, as a normal flight would go...and then a Green Rose. As you would imagine, a fight ensued, and the green went Between, and Yaruth was badly injured. The flight carried on, for only a short while longer, and the injured Gold layed a clutch of only Seven, including, to the relief of the other dragonriders, one, golden egg.
But would it Hatch? And what about the two eggs which are exactly the size of the Gold egg? And the smallest, barely bigger than an firelizard egg?
Those were the questions rippling around the Weyr before the Hatching, and those questions were answered. The first to hatch was a perfect looking bronze, who had an odd red birthmark under his wing. The Weyrfolk thought nothing of this.
Then straight after, before the bronze Impressed, the Gold egg hatched, revealing a beautiful gold, with the underside of her wings orange in colour, and vein-like orange lines around her body. Then hatched the smallest egg, and there appeared a red, barely bigger than a full grown gold firelizard.
He wasn't the only mutation though, for soon after another egg hatched, a gold-sized egg. Out came a dragon which changed to whichever color dragon he stood nearest to, and he was white when he was near none. He helped his sister escape her egg prison, and out came a black dragon, with purple tattoo-like designs over her body, and purple wing membranes. Then hatched a brown and a green to end the odd hatching, leaving all seven eggs hatched and Impressed.
Nyree of Gold Merakanth
Althea of Tattoo Khithkanth
N'ick of Bronze Indorath
Bl'ack of Chameleon Zanorath
Dalmian of Brown Opith
Juliet of Green Barsarith
Ceinwen of Red Ramborath
All these weyrlings now grace the halls of Zendetia Weyr. But what's this? Gold Star has risen, and will undoubtedly clutch soon, and Gold Sookieth, Queen of the Weyr, is due to rise soon enough.
Candidates are greatly needed.[/i][/SIZE]
